Activision Names Call Of Duty Head Robert Kostich As New President

After a number of high profile departures from Activision Blizzard's corporate, such as a CFO that left for Netflix and Sledgehammer's founder leaving soon after being promoted, the company is quick to fill open chairs and name key promotions within the company. Most notably, Robert Kostich, who is amazingly not Bobby Kotick under an assumed name, has been promoted to the position of Activision president.

Kostich has been head of the Call of Duty franchise over the last ten years, shepherding it during its lower points and its recent higher ones. He also oversaw the Call of Duty esports initiatives during his tenure. He'll be assuming a similar role as head of Activision, except for all games in the company's portfolio.

Humam Sakhnini was named president of King Entertainment, Activision's $6 billion dollar acquisition, while Dennis Durkin was also named president of Activision Blizzard’s emerging businesses as well as serving as CFO. Bobby Kotick remains CEO, while J. Allen Brack stays president of Blizzard.

“Rob, Humam, Dennis and J. exemplify our deep bench of operational and commercial leadership. These capable and seasoned executives have shown unwavering commitment to our company, our employees, and our beloved community of fans around the world,”  Kotick said in a statement. “With these proven, principled leaders at the helm, we will continue to invest in the strategic growth drivers of our business; our talented people, and creating the world’s best videogames, live services, mobile experiences, and new and growing franchise engagement models.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was recently named Game Informer's best shooter of the year, as well as the reader's choice for best shooter.
