Sony have shared they are now out of the beta phase for cross-play functionality support.

With the release of cross-play, this means any PS4 title that supports this function can take advantage of the feature. While this doesn’t come from an official announcement, the feature was highlighted in an article by Wired. According to the article the first major title to be able to use this would be most likely Modern Warfare which releases on October 25th. So far there is no confirmation on this.

This isn’t the only move Sony has made recently, they also halfed the price of their Playstation Now subscription service to $10 a month, adding limited time access to their exclusive titles such as God of War. Sony are not the only ones to be making moves this month as Microsoft recently announced promotions for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate including adding a 6 month Spotify subscription, and letting new subscribers try out the service for as little as $2 for the first two months.

This could be a way for Sony to keep in the competitive running, and this will open up cross-play for a number of titles in future. PS4 currently has Fornite, Rocket League and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds joining cross-play this month. Which titles are you hoping to gain cross-play next? Let us know in the comments below.
