Sekiro Game of The Year Edition Trailer Plus New Update Launches Next Week

At the end of last year Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice the latest title from Dark Souls developer FromSoftware had won the Game of the Year Award at TGA 2019. Previously a new update was announced to be coming this October, but now it’s confirmed the Sekiro GOTY version will be available worldwide and will be releasing on October 28th at 10AM PT / 5PM GMT / October 29th at 2AM JST.

A trailer has been released for GOTY edition previews some of the additions that will be arriving next week as part of free update for all who own the game. It includes a new boss challenge mode, player recordings and unlockable skins. Players will have access to a new arena that will pit players against previous bosses but with new challenges to face such as the Gauntlets of Strength. If you die, you will have to start over, making your way through the challenges all over again.

Players will also be getting a number of new outfit options which will be coming the update including “Tengu” and “Old Ashina Shinobi” styles which be rewarded for completing Gaunlets. A new player recording feature called Remnants is also coming which allows players to record movements and text of them taking down an enemy that lasts up to 30 seconds. This can be then uploaded for other members in the community to playback and learn from others, and gain some major insight on how to take down a particular foe.

If your Remnant gets watched and rated by another community member, it will grant you free HP recovery, allowing you to jump back into the fight much quicker and without the use of the Sculptor’s Idol or using a consumable item such as the Healing Gourd.

Players will need to download the free update which arrives next week on October 28th.

Back in August the physical Sekiro Shadows Die Twice Game of the Year Edition was announced to be coming to Japan on the same date, however there has been no news about a physical version for other regions so far.

Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is available to play on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. The GOTY game update will be coming to all platforms, and also the game will be coming Stadia on October 28th.
